Lighten Up: Bringing More Play into Homeschool

by Kami Harris
Sep 24, 2025

Ever feel like your homeschool is getting a little too serious?

A few weeks into the school year, the color-coded plans and fresh supplies can start to feel heavy under the weight of reality—long lessons, interruptions, and kids who aren’t exactly thrilled with your carefully crafted activities.

This week, I’m sharing how to release the guilt, perfectionism, and comparison that make motherhood so overwhelming. We’ll explore practical ways to:

  • Bring more play and creativity into your homeschool.

  • Use laughter, song, and dance to reset a heavy day.

  • Practice self-compassion and finally let “good enough” be enough.

If homeschooling feels stressful or serious, this will help you find lightness, connection, and joy again. Because your homeschool doesn’t have to look perfect—it can look playful.
